The senior equivalent of Junior Max, with a very powerful 125cc
TAG engine. The maximum revs are limited electronically and the
engines are sealed to prevent unapproved tuning. They are
designed for low maintenance.

125 6 speed ICC gearbox engine
This is a very popular gearbox class, although a little
more expensive than a direct drive class, they can be
surprisingly economical to run. The 125cc water cooled
engines have 6 gears, sequentially operated like a motorcycle
using a gear lever mounted next to the steering wheel.
0-60mph times are less than 4 seconds, top speed is 90mph
on short circuit. This is an ABkC Championship class run by the
NKF.

Popular traditional kart class using a BT82 piston port engine
to a strict non-tuning regime. Junior engines have a restrictor
between the carburettor and engine to limit the power.
ABkC 250 National

FORMULA JUNIOR GEARBOX

85cc 6 speed engine
Uses an 85cc Honda or TM engine with 6 gears. Four wheel
braking offers the youngsters an experience close to a single
seater race car. Not raced at many clubs but there are two
national series.
FORMULA 250 NATIONAL

250cc single cylinder engine
This is the most powerful short-circuit class using 250cc
single cylinder motocross 5 speed engines. The karts are
often equipped with large full width nose cones and wings,
especially when used on long circuits. Top speeds are
100mph on short circuits. The NKF holds the ABkC National
Championships.

This is the lowest powered class of the Rotax family and used a
very restricted 125cc 2-stroke TAG engine. The
engine is sealed and has a log-book showing the service history.
COMER CADET

60cc comer sealed engine with clutch
Uses a 60cc sealed 2-stroke Comer engine so engine rebuilds have
to be carried out by an approved service agent. This class
is used for the premier championships and is run by most
clubs.

One of the most powerful junior classes with a top speed of
about 70mph. Uses a 125cc 2-stroke TAG engine. All Rotax
