 Latest News.

NEW for 2009.... the NKF have now received authorisation and permits from the MSA to run the ABkC KZ1 championship.
Regulations and registration forms can be downloaded from the downloads section of this site.

The Northern Karting Federation is a clubman championship designed to give the Club driver a chance to go for a championship without incurring too many costs in travel and entries.  The idea is that the Championship contenders race in the club grids, therefore helping the smaller clubs at their meetings, and also giving the competitors a decent grid to race in.  The competitors race only against each other for points and, although they are racing with non-championship drivers, they do not take points away from our competitors.

All classes are running this year subject, of course, to minimum registration numbers, and they will run to the regulations for each class outlined in the 2009 Kart Year Book.   All our dates and venues can be found on our registration slips – one for the Junior and Senior drivers and one for the Gearbox drivers.

Once again, the ABkC have asked our organisation to run their prestigious Formula 125 ICC UK and Formula 250 National Super 4 championship.  We have successfully run this Championship in previous years and the grids continue to get stronger each year.

We do not run controlled fuel or tyres for our championship, although one set of tyres only is allowed per meeting and fuel to MSA guidelines is applicable.     The entry fee for each round is an all in fee of £85 which includes Saturday practice and Sunday race fees.

The ABkC S4 Championship is run over 6 rounds with the best 5 rounds scoring for the championship, whilst the NKF Championship is run over 7 rounds with the best 5 rounds scoring – therefore giving our competitors greater flexibility in the rounds that they are able to do.

If you like the idea of the Championship have a look around our website to get all the information you require but,  if there is anything not covered here, then speak to Malcolm Fell  on 01229 463748.

The 2009 season is now underway with the first round of the 250 National gearbox karts giving a good show at Kimbolton during March.  The NKF would like to thank Kimbolton for their hospitality on what proved a very busy meeting with nearly 300 competitors at their clubby.   Congratulations to Lee Stamp with the first win of the 2009 championship!
